We are thrilled to be able to offer a break at the gorgeous and historic Feathers Hotel in the heart of Ludlow, surrounded by over 500 listed buildings.
Day 1 We travel across country, making suitable refreshment stops, reaching our hotel in Ludlow in the afternoon.
Day 2 A full day to enjoy Ludlow. This is a bustling market town, full of history as well as shopping opportunities and cafés, and Ludlow Castle is one the finest medieval ruins in the country (not included). Alternatively, join your driver on a half day excursion to Hereford, where you might like to view the cathedral, which houses international treasures including the famous Mappa Mundi and the largest surviving medieval chained library.
Day 3 Our day in Shrewsbury includes a 45-minute cruise on board the Sabrina River Cruiser as she sails around the picturesque River Severn Loop. We then visit the Riverbank Restaurant for an included Ploughman’s Lunch, before free time to explore the town centre and maybe visit the Cathedral.
Day 4 We begin with a visit to Ironbridge, to see the historic bridge across the Severn which gives the town its name. We also explore Blists Hill, a fascinating recreation of a Victorian town complete with staff in authentic costume.
Day 5 We make our way to Burford for time to shop, eat and sightsee, before continuing homewards, reaching the local area late afternoon.
Our four-star hotel is a Grade 1 listed property which has maintained its unique historic character while being fully renovated and refurbished. Enjoy the lounge, cocktail bar and highly acclaimed restaurant. The 42 bedrooms are individually furnished and have TV, WiFi, safe, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has a lift, but as an historic building some steps are necessary within.
