After many requests we are pleased to offer this new tour based in Southport. Take a summer break to enjoy Southport’s beautiful beaches, superb shopping, glorious gardens and the UK’s oldest iron pier.
Day 1 After our door to door service, join your tour coach and we make our way northwards to Southport with suitable stops along the way. We arrive in time to relax before dinner.
Day 2 A free day to enjoy Southport. You might like to take a stroll along the Grade II listed pier, relax on the waterfront or visit the shops.
Day 3 This morning we make our way to WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre, where many thousands of birds arrive throughout the year. The centre is home to resident water birds, otters and beavers. In the afternoon we visit Old Ruﬀord Hall, a beautiful timber-framed Tudor property with over 500 years of history and 14 acres of stunning grounds.
Day 4 Today we begin with a stop at Crosby to view Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ – 100 cast iron ﬁgures stretching along the shore and out into the sea. We then continue into Liverpool for a 50-minute journey on the iconic Mersey Ferry with commentary and views of the famous ‘Three Graces’ and the Liverpool skyline. The afternoon is free to explore the city and to obtain lunch.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel south with suitable refreshment stops along the way. We reach the local area and our taxis late afternoon.
This modern four-star hotel is situated on the Waterfront Promenade with views over Marina Lake. There is a pleasant bar and terrace and a small ﬁtness room. Guests also have complimentary use of the swimming pool at the adjacent leisure centre. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is a lift to all ﬂoors.
