After many requests we are pleased to return to Southport. Take a summer break to enjoy Southport’s beautiful beaches, superb shopping, glorious gardens and the UK’s oldest iron pier.
Day 1 We make our way northwards to Southport with suitable stops along the way. We arrive in time to relax before dinner.
Day 2 A free day to enjoy Southport. You might like to take a stroll along the Grade II listed pier, relax on the waterfront or visit the shops.
Day 3 This morning we make our way to WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre, where many thousands of birds arrive throughout the year. The centre is home to resident water birds, otters and beavers. In the afternoon we visit Old Rufford Hall, a beautiful timber-framed Tudor property with over 500 years of history and 14 acres of stunning grounds.
Day 4 Today we begin with a stop at Crosby to view Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ – 100 cast iron figures stretching along the shore and out into the sea. We then continue into Liverpool and enjoy a guided tour by coach before free time for lunch and your own exploration.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel south with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Our four-star hotel is right on the marina, only a short walk from fabulous attractions, and has a stunning roof garden with views of the coast. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hospitality tray. The hotel has free WiFi and a lift to all floors.
