Based in the beautiful Regency town of Sidmouth, we have a varied programme including a fine Georgian House, some gorgeous gardens, a trip on a tram and a chance to adopt a donkey.
Day 1 We make our way into Dorset, stopping in Poole for lunch. On into Devon, we arrive at our hotel in the afternoon.
Day 2 Today we visit Seaton and board the famous Seaton Tramway for a three-mile journey by narrow gauge tram through the glorious Axe Valley, through two nature reserves to Colyton. After an included soup & sandwich lunch at the Tramstop Café, we hop back on the tram and return to Seaton. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy Sidmouth.
Day 3 A morning excursion to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, set in Devon’s Otter Valley, and the product of almost 300 years of horticultural history. Enjoy a free afternoon in Sidmouth or visit the famous Donkey Sanctuary and meet Drizzle, the Woods’ adoptee.
Day 4 After breakfast we visit Killerton, an elegant Georgian country house set in glorious gardens which are beautiful throughout the year. We have time to explore the mansion and get a bite to eat. In the afternoon we have a stop in Exmouth before returning to our hotel.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel home via Dorchester. We reach the local area late afternoon.
