A lovely spring visit to the Royal York and Faulkner Hotel, overlooking the waters of Lyme Bay on the Regency promenade at Sidmouth, a town with old world charm and delightful gardens. Enjoy the town, sightsee along the coast, visit Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, the Donkey Sanctuary and take a ride on the South Devon Railway.
Day 1 After a morning taxi pick up, we make our way into Dorset, stopping in Bournemouth for lunch. On into Devon, we arrive at our hotel in the afternoon.
Day 2 After breakfast we drive to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. Set in Devon’s Otter Valley, the Grade I listed gardens are a product of almost 300 years of horticultural history and we have included the gardens, glass houses and a ride on the woodland railway. Later, we continue along the East Devon Heritage Coast to Exmouth.
Day 3 A day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful Regency town, or join your driver for a visit to see Bonnie at the famous Donkey Sanctuary.
Day 4 A scenic drive on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, to Buckfastleigh where we enjoy a return journey on the South Devon Railway, travelling along the Dart Valley through the beautiful Devon hills, as well as visiting the Dartmoor Otter and Buckfast Butterfly Centre adjacent to the station.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel home via Dorchester. We reach the local area late afternoon.
