From our base near Stourport-upon-Severn we are able to discover the history of this remarkable region. From Medieval manor houses and Victorian farms, to 20th Century aviation to African wildlife – this tour has something for everyone!
Day 1 After a taxi pick up from your home, we make our way via some of the pretty towns of the Cotswolds to Stourport-Upon-Severn and our hotel to be greeted with tea and biscuits.
Day 2 We go north to Stokesay Castle, a survivor of 700 years of border and civil wars, and the best fortiﬁed manor house in Britain. From here we make our way to the little village of Acton Scott, and visit the historic working farm. The estate featured on TV’s ‘Victorian Farm’ and we gain great insight into life on a Victorian country estate. We then drive along Wenlock Edge and take a break in Much Wenlock before returning to our hotel.
Day 3 A morning visit for you to discover the delights of Worcester, with its impressive cathedral and beautiful location on the River Severn. This afternoon we have a drive along the delightful Severn Valley. In Bewdley we visit the West Midlands Safari Park and enjoy coﬀee/tea and cakes before a safari drive with a knowledgeable park guide.
Day 4 We head north to visit the Coalport China Museum, housing the exquisite collections of Coalport and Caughley China. The museum is housed in the magniﬁcent listed buildings which were home to the factory until 1926. From here we travel to the RAF Museum in Cosford. This excellent exhibition has 70 historic aircraft, fascinating memorabilia and the National Cold War Exhibition gives an insight into life behind the Iron Curtain.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast we travel south with a stop in Cheltenham, before continuing home, meeting our taxis late afternoon.
This four-star Hallmark hotel is built around a gracious country manor house set in 23 acres of grounds. The superb leisure complex includes an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, solarium, gym and tennis courts. The hotel has WiFi and all rooms have TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel does not have a lift, but many ground ﬂoor rooms.
