A lovely summer holiday based at a favourite Woods hotel. Explore the house and gardens at Sandringham, the North norfolk Heritage Coast and visit the seals at Blakeney Point.
Day 1 After leaving the local area we visit the pretty town of Saffron Walden for free time to explore. We continue to our hotel near King’s Lynn arriving late afternoon.
Day 2 A day out at Sandringham, the much-loved country estate of The Queen, and private home to generations of British monarchs since 1862. The house is set in 24 acres of stunning gardens in the heart of the 8000- hectare estate.
Day 3 This morning is spent in King’s Lynn, where it’s Market Day. Fine old merchants’ houses stretch down to the banks of the River Ouse, and cobbled lanes and the elegant Custom House overlook the harbour. Spend the whole day here, return to your hotel to enjoy the leisure facilities or join your driver on a trip up to Hunstanton, famous for its striped cliffs.
Day 4 After a leisurely breakfast, we take a scenic drive across North Norfolk via Fakenham to the Georgian town of Holt. After some free time to explore and get some lunch, we make our way to Morston Quay to board our boat for a one-hour trip out to see the seals and birds in their natural habitat on and around Blakeney Point National Nature Reserve*.
Day 5 Leaving after breakfast, we travel homewards via Chelmsford for our lunch stop, and reach the local area early evening.
Enjoying views of The Wash and toward historic Castle Rising, our four-star hotel offers comfort in a peaceful location in acres of parkland close to King’s Lynn. Leisure facilities include indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna, gym, treatment rooms and the Farmer’s Arms Inn. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, ironing facilities, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel does not have a lift, but some ground floor rooms are available. .
