The world-famous Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines will end the year with a military music spectacular featuring festive music, military marches, big band hits and popular showstoppers. We travel to Bournemouth to witness this remarkable event and also have some free time to explore Bournemouth, visit Salisbury and visit the remarkable Beaulieu Estate.
Day 1 We make our way west and travel down through the New Forest to Bournemouth, arriving early afternoon. There will be free time in the town centre to have a look round the shops and the Christmas Market stalls before we check into our hotel.
Day 2 Today we visit the Beaulieu Estate, home to the renowned National Motor Museum and Palace House, which will be beautifully decorated for Christmas. We return to the Suncliff Hotel for an early dinner at 5pm, before travelling the short distance to the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre for our evening of musical military entertainment. The Royal Marines will be showcasing their talents with festive music, military marches and big band hits. In addition, their world-renowned Corps of Drums will demonstrate the precision, accuracy and skill for which they have become famous across the globe. Our seats are in the stalls.
Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, we depart Bournemouth and travel up to Salisbury, where the historic town centre is crammed with interesting shops and pleasant cafés, excellent for Christmas shopping. We then make our way back to the local area and our taxis.
Situated on the seafront, overlooking Bournemouth Bay, the Suncliff has a restaurant, bar, lounges and onsite Traditional English Pub. Leisure facilities open to you include an indoor swimming pool, sauna and mini gym. The Oceana Day Spa is next door at the sister hotel.
