This tour is packed with glorious Lancashire countryside, full of beautiful valleys, unspoilt villages and interesting stories shared with us by our guides
Day 1 After a morning pick up from your home, we travel northward to the Ribble Valley, arriving at our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 This morning we have a real treat with our local award-winning guide Simon Entwistle, who is taking us to some beautiful unspoilt villages including Chipping, Whalley and Downham, nestling under Pendle Hill, with an interesting and entertaining commentary. In the afternoon we visit Samlesbury Hall, steeped in history, retaining its original black and white exterior.
Day 3 We travel west to the coast and Morecambe Bay, where we have free time to explore. In the afternoon, we visit the beautifully-restored Midland Hotel on the seafront at Morecambe for afternoon tea, a mouthwatering selection of sandwiches, scones and much more!
Day 4 This morning we have a guided tour of the lovely Rossendale Valley, via Turton, Ramsbottom and Helmshore. Our lunch stop is at the Oswaldtwistle Mill Complex, an amazing shopping opportunity and a lovely place to eat. We then make our way to Riley Green Marina for a relaxing cruise along the Leeds Liverpool Canal with afternoon tea served along the way.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we have a stop in Stratford-upon-Avon for lunch and sightseeing. We reach the local area early evening.
Our three-star hotel is situated near the village of Billington in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley. Leisure facilities include swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. All bedrooms have seating areas with interactive TV and movies, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel does not have a lift, but ground floor rooms are available.
