Itinerary

Day 1 After a taxi pick up from your home, we head north, reaching our hotel late afternoon. A welcome talk will be given at the hotel with an introduction to The Potteries.

Day 2 Today we visit The Potteries, an area famous for its manufacturing of fine china. First to the Gladstone Museum, the last complete Victorian pottery factory in the country. Then onto the biggest, and arguably the most famous of the sites in The Potteries, founded by Josiah Wedgwood in 1759. We have a factory tour of the World of Wedgwood, and time to browse in the shops to purchase your own piece of history.

Day 3 A day out today in Trentham where we spend the morning exploring the award-winning Italianate gardens, and take a boat trip on the Capability Brown designed lake. Explore the Trentham Shopping Village over lunch and then we visit the Monkey Forest, where an approximately 80-minute walk takes you through the forest where monkeys roam free!

Day 4 We travel into the Peak District National Park, heading first to Buxton for a visit to Poole’s Cavern, an astonishing two-million-year-old limestone cave. We have some free time in Buxton before a scenic drive through the National Park with views of Ladybower Reservoir before returning to our hotel via Bakewell.

Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast we travel south with a visit to Cheltenham for free time to get some lunch, before continuing home, meeting our taxis late afternoon.
