Day 1 After your taxi pick up, we travel north making suitable refreshment stops along the way, arriving at our hotel late afternoon to be greeted with tea and biscuits. This evening a local guide gives us a talk about the village.

Day 2 Our day begins with a drive down through the North York Moors National Park through stunning scenery to Pickering. Here we have a little time to explore the historic market town and 1930s themed station before we board our carriage on the North York Moors Railway. We travel 18 miles across the moors through Goathland Station (famous as ‘Hogsmeade Station’ in ‘Harry Potter’) and reach Whitby early afternoon. Explore the narrow streets and bustling harbour overlooked by the striking ruins of Whitby Abbey before we return to our hotel.

Day 3 Today we visit award-winning Eden Camp, near Malton, where we experience the sights, sounds and smells of life on the home front and the front line, all set in the buildings and grounds of an original World War II prisoner of war camp. We then move on to Castle Howard, a palatial stately home set between two lakes and surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Day 4 A more leisurely day today as we spend the morning in the Victorian seaside resort of Scarborough. Choose whether to stay in Scarborough for the day or return to Ravenscar to enjoy relaxing or exploring in the grounds of our fabulous hotel.

Day 5 We travel home with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
