A rare chance to spend a whole day at the National Memorial Arboretum, visit gorgeous gardens and an RHS Flower Show.
Day 1 A morning collection by taxi before joining our coach for our journey northwards, with suitable stops en route, arriving at our hotel late afternoon and greeted with tea and biscuits.
Day 2 Today is one of the highlights of our tour, a full day visit to the National Memorial Arboretum. The UK's Year-Round Centre of Remembrance, with 150 acres, over 300 memorials and an abundance of wildlife, there is something for everyone at the Arboretum. Join the daily Act of Remembrance at 11am, explore the “Landscapes of Life” exhibition, enjoy one of the informative talks or relax on the land train, an excellent way to take in a large proportion of the site’s fascinating memorials.
Day 3 We have a full day at Tatton Park to enjoy the RHS Flower Show. Marvel at the colour and creativity of the show gardens, pick up tips from expert growers, hear insightful talks from a range of speakers, buy bulbs, blooms and garden accessories, enjoy live entertainment and fantastic food and drink!
Day 4 This morning we visit Trentham’s award-winning Italianate gardens, with the ‘Capability Brown’ - designed lake at its centre. Also explore the onsite shopping village and large garden centre. In the afternoon we have a journey on the Foxfield Light Railway through the Staffordshire countryside.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel homewards making suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Our modern four-star hotel is located close to Stoke and incorporates Etruria Hall, the former home of Josiah Wedgwood. Facilities include swimming pool, gym and sun terrace. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, ironing facilities, safe, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is a lift to some rooms.
