We travel through time from the 1400s, with a visit to Leicester - the resting place of Richard III, through Tudor times in Stratford-upon-Avon and Coughton Court’s connections to the Gunpowder Plot, to the 21st Century at the National Space Centre.
Day 1 We pick you up from your door, and then by coach we travel north to Warwick, with suitable stops along the way. After some free time to explore, we continue to our hotel where we have a welcome drink before dinner for a chance to meet your fellow guests.
Day 2 Our day in Leicestershire begins at the multi-award-winning National Space Centre, where we have access to six galleries crammed full of rockets, satellites and meteorites, the iconic Rocket Tower and a 30- minute show in the UK’s largest domed planetarium. We continue to Leicester, where you might like to visit the Richard III Visitor Centre or see his final resting place in the magnificent cathedral (entrances not included).
Day 3 Today we are met by an excellent local guide who will take us on a mystery drive culminating in a visit to Coughton Court. Home to the Throckmorton family for over 600 years, this imposing Tudor house is set in beautiful gardens and contains a collection of Catholic treasures.
Day 4 Today we visit Stratford-upon-Avon, home to Shakespeare and a delightful medieval town to explore. During the day we have a 40-minute river cruise and visit Shakespeare’s Distillery for a guided tour and tasting of the excellent gins produced here.
Day 5 We journey home via Oxford, where you will have time to get some lunch. We then continue south, reaching our taxis late afternoon for our transfer home.
