Explore the gorgeous scenery and historic black and white townscapes as we dive into the history around the Malvern Hills.
Day 1 After collection from your home by taxi, our coach travels across country to Tewkesbury, renowned as having one of the finest medieval black and white townscapes in the country. From here we travel the short distance to our hotel in Great Malvern.
Day 2 This morning we travel to Worcester with free time to explore the city. In the afternoon we visit Hanbury Hall, a stunning 18th-century country house with 400 acres of parkland and gardens lovingly restored to their original design and splendour.
Day 3 Today we explore some of Herefordshire’s gorgeous ‘black and white’ villages with a local guide. Our route takes in a rich landscape of orchards, hopyards, delightful cottages, inns, shops and timber-framed hamlets including Dilwyn, Weobley, Eardisley, Pembridge and Eardisland. We have free time in Leominster before returning to Malvern.
Day 4 Enjoy a morning in Great Malvern, including a guided tour of the magnificent Priory attached to our hotel. This afternoon we visit Croome, once home to the Earls of Coventry and a secret wartime airbase set in ‘Capability’ Brown parkland. Explore the house, RAF Museum, and have a special tour of the magnificent walled garden.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast we travel through the Cotswolds with a stop in Stow-on-the-Wold. In the afternoon, we continue to the local area with refreshment stops along the way.
Our four-star hotel is located in the heart of Great Malvern adjoining the fine Benedictine Priory, and has spectacular views over the Vale of Evesham and the beautiful Malvern Hills. All rooms have TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has WiFi and a lift to most rooms.
