We have been very lucky to secure summer space at the renowned Tynedale Hotel, on the Victorian Promenade in Llandudno. We visit Snowdonia, Anglesey, travel on one of the famous ‘Little Trains of Wales’, and enjoy entertainment every night at our hotel.
Day 1 We travel northwards and into Wales, arriving in Llandudno late afternoon to settle into our wonderful hotel.
Day 2 A free morning to enjoy Llandudno, where you might like to take a stroll along the wide promenade, indulge in some shopping or relax at our hotel. In the afternoon, we visit the glorious Bodnant Garden and Bodnant Welsh Food.
Day 3 We travel through the Vale of Conwy and into the Snowdonia National Park to reach Blaenau Ffestiniog to board the narrow-gauge railway for a dramatically scenic ride over the mountains to Porthmadog. From here on to the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion, the setting for the TV show ‘The Prisoner’, standing on a rugged clifftop overlooking Cardigan Bay. A pretty route through the National Park brings us back to our hotel.
Day 4 Our excursion today is to the Isle of Anglesey, across the Menai Strait. We visit Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllan-tysiliogogogoch and Beaumaris, an historic town with medieval castle, gaol and courthouse. We return to our hotel mid-afternoon.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we make our way home with suitable stops along the way, reaching the local area early evening.
Our wonderful hotel offers four-star accommodation and is centrally located on Llandudno’s iconic Victorian promenade, just 20 metres from the beach and a short walk from the High Street and the pier. Each bedroom is unique and has TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is a lift to most rooms, and fantastic entertainment every evening.
