This wonderful Lakeland tour includes cruises on Lakes Windermere and Derwentwater, stunning scenery and a day out with ‘The Mountain Goat’ – a specialist tour by minibus which allows us to travel over dramatic mountain passes and see areas inaccessible by the larger coach.
Day 1 A taxi takes you from your door to your Woods coach and we make our way north making suitable refreshments stops en route before arriving at our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 Our day begins in Bowness where we enjoy a short cruise up Lake Windermere to Ambleside, before travelling on to Grasmere over lunchtime. In the afternoon we drive past Thirlmere and finally we have a 50-minute boat trip around Derwentwater before making our way back to our hotel. DAY 5: Departing the hotel after breakfast we make our way south towards home making suitable refreshment stops en route.
Day 3 This morning we join the minibuses of the ‘Mountain Goat’ for a tour called the ‘Ten Lakes Spectacular’! We travel over high passes, through beautiful valleys, past waterfalls, traditional Lakeland villages and lakes from the south to the north. There will be plenty of stops for photographs and the tour includes a visit to the 4000-year-old Castlerigg Stone Circle set high on the fells, and time in Keswick for lunch.
Day 4 This morning we take a scenic drive over the Yorkshire Dales to Richmond, where there is free time to explore and get lunch. We spend the afternoon in the historic market town of Barnard Castle.
