We are happy to offer this exciting itinerary for Ireland with our single travellers in mind. We visit Kilkenny, discover Waterford Crystal and try a drop of whiskey. We have a glass of wine, beer or a soft drink with dinner each night at Dooley’s, and one evening of live entertainment in the bar.
Day 1 After being picked up from your door by taxi, we travel by coach to South Wales and our overnight hotel in Carmarthenshire. We have a welcome drink before dinner
Day 2 After breakfast we travel across to Pembroke where we take the early afternoon ferry arriving in Rosslare at around 7pm. From here we travel to our hotel in Waterford for a late dinner.
Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, we walk the short distance to the Waterford Crystal Centre for a guided tour. The rest of the day is free, or join your driver on a trip to the Dunbrody Famine Ship in New Ross (entrance not included).
Day 4 We travel to Kilkenny, a beautiful and well-preserved medieval town. The road-train takes us through the narrow streets, before having free time to explore, visit the abbey, cathedral or relax in one of the many bars and cafés.
Day 5 We travel west along the magnificent Copper Coast to Dungarvan, where we have a stop for lunch. This afternoon we visit The Old Midleton Distillery, a unique experience discovering the history of Jameson and, of course, tasting the famous triple distilled Irish Whiskey.
Day 6 We have an early start before boarding our ferry at Rosslare for the 3½ hour crossing to Pembroke, with breakfast on board. We travel across Southern Wales and into England, reaching the local area in the evening.
Located in the heart of historic Waterford, overlooking the waterfront, the three-star Dooley’s Hotel has been run by the Darrer family for three generations and is renowned for its good food and friendly welcome. The bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hospitality tray. The hotel has a lift, but a few rooms are accessed by a couple of steps.
