Come to the outstandingly beautiful and unspoilt archipelago lying just of the Cornish coast, and feel as though you have stepped into another world – a calmer, simpler world where you can enjoy the warm hospitality of the team at The Atlantic Inn, the fantastic walks, a climate that attracts rare birds, dolphins and seals, and all year round exotic plants and flowers thrive.
Day 1 We drive towards the West Country, making a suitable stop for lunch. We arrive at Land’s End for an afternoon flight to St Mary’s. You will be transferred to the hotel where you will receive a warm reception. St Mary’s is the largest of the isles and Hugh Town is the central hub with its cluster of shops, churches, post office, cafés, galleries, restaurants and pubs. It also has three lovely beaches in very close proximity.
Day 2-6 During your stay you enjoy: • A full day guided walking tour on St Mary’s. The coastline features large stretches of deserted white sandy beaches, dramatic rocky coves, amazing archaeological sites, and wonderful flora and fauna. If you do not wish to walk all day it is possible to join this tour in the morning and return to the hotel after lunch either on foot or by taxi (own expense). • A full day to the island of Tresco by boat, with a visit to the world famous Tresco Abbey Gardens. This horticultural paradise hosts a spectacular collection of more than 20,000 exotic plants from all corners of the world – many of which cannot be grown anywhere else in Britain. • A visit to the island of either St Agnes or St Martin’s. The first is Britain’s most southwesterly outpost with Bronze Age burial sites and dramatic seascapes. The second has mile upon mile of white sands backed with palm trees. Both have welcoming pubs and cafés in which to relax after your walks. • Two free days to explore at your leisure.
Day 7 After breakfast we will be transferred to the airport for the short flight to Land’s End. A Woods coach will be waiting to return you to the local area and home.
Centrally located in Hugh Town on St Mary’s, the Atlantic Inn is on the water’s edge, overlooking the harbour. It is a delightful, rambling old inn, with plenty of character. All rooms have TV and hospitality tray. The hotel does not have a lift and there is only one ground floor room. The restaurant overlooks the waterfront and there is WiFi.
