Discover with us the best of Shropshire, and visit Gloucester, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Burford, explore Blists Hill Victorian Town, Stokesay Castle, Shrewsbury Cathedral and enjoy a cruise on the River Severn.
Day 1 Following a morning collection from home, we join our Woods coach and travel toward Gloucester where we stop for free time for lunch, before continuing to Shropshire and arriving at our hotel late afternoon. We have a welcome drink before dinner for the opportunity to meet your fellow guests.
Day 2 Today we visit Blists Hill, a fascinating re-creation of a Victorian town complete with staff in authentic costume. We also visit Ironbridge, a centre of the industrial revolution and now a delightful town of tearooms and antique shops.
Day 3 Our day in Shrewsbury includes a 45-minute cruise on board Sabrina as she sails around the picturesque River Severn Loop. After an included sandwich lunch, we have a guided tour of Shrewsbury Cathedral. Our day ends with free time in town before we return to our hotel.
Day 4 This morning we take a drive through the scenic Shropshire Hills on our way to Stokesay Castle, the finest and best-preserved fortified medieval manor house in England. At lunch time we make our way to Ludlow, where the afternoon is free for exploring and sightseeing.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast we make our way to Burford for time to shop, eat and sightsee before continuing homewards, reaching the local area late afternoon.
Our three-star family-run hotel is at the foot of the famous Wrekin, close to Telford. In pleasant grounds, the hotel has a restaurant and comfortable bar lounge. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, WiFi, safe, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is a lift to some rooms, and we have two nights of entertainment during our stay.
