Enjoy a delightful summertime tour of East Anglia.
Day 1 We travel to Suffolk making suitable refreshment stops along the way, arriving at our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 Following breakfast, we embark on a guided tour through the charming villages nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Constable Country including East Bergholt, the birthplace of the renowned painter. We'll also see the captivating church in Dedham and the quaint hamlet of Flatford Mill, which served as an inspirational canvas for many of Constable's masterpieces. Our final stop is the pretty town of Lavenham.
Day 3 This morning we are off to the famous University City of Cambridge where we will meet a guide for a tour of Cambridge ending with a visit to the American Cemetery. Afterwards, we have the chance to explore the city before returning to the hotel.
Day 4 Begin your day after breakfast with a charming journey to Long Melford, one of the picturesque villages that served as a backdrop for the filming of the TV series Lovejoy. Our morning unfolds at the magnificent Melford Hall, which houses an eclectic collection and intriguing tales of naval adventures. In the afternoon, we'll delve into the historical charm of Bury St. Edmunds, renowned for its Abbey Gardens, The Angel Hotel where Dickens hosted Mrs. Pickwick, and the Nutshell pub, proudly proclaiming itself as the smallest pub in Britain.
Day 5 After breakfast we travel home.
Our three-star hotel is on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds. The garden room has panoramic views of the gardens and terrace. There is a bar and lounge area. Bedrooms have TV, telephone, iron and board, hairdryer, and hospitality tray. The hotel has not got a lift, but some ground floor rooms. There are a few stairs to the first floor.
