Itinerary

Day 1 An early collection from home to join our coach for the journey to Dover and morning sailing to Calais. We continue to our overnight hotel in Bruehl, arriving in time for our evening meal.

Day 2 Departing after breakfast, we continue into Germany and arrive at the HKK Hotel Wernigerode by late afternoon.

Day 3 Today we discover the magical Harz Mountains with a journey on the “Harzer” narrow gauge railway to the summit of Brocken for a wonderful scenic view of the region. We continue our railway journey through 12 miles of picturesque scenery back to Wernigerode, where a tour guide will introduce you to the highlights of this colourful town.

Day 4 We travel to Quedlingburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, once a centre of the German Empire and one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval renaissance towns. Its cobbled streets are lined with halftimbered houses and the stately castle overlooks the city. Enjoy an included guided tour of the city followed by free time to explore.

Day 5 The first stop today is the former Free Imperial City of Goslar known as the “Rome of the North”, with over 1000 years of history and many crooked, narrow, cobble-stoned streets to discover. Take a city tour, savour a piece of cake and a coffee on the shore of Lake Okersee and enjoy a charming boat ride.

Day 6 We depart after breakfast, travel through Germany and arrive at our overnight hotel in Bruehl in time for dinner.

Day 7 After breakfast, we continue our journey to Calais for an afternoon ferry to Dover, returning to the local area by late evening where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
