Itinerary

Day 1 After our taxi pick ups, we travel north stopping in the beautiful town of Stamford en route. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon. Enjoy a welcome drink before dinner for a chance to meet your fellow guests.

Day 2 Our day begins with an Emmerdale drive, taking us through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside to the tiny village of Esholt – ‘Beckindale’ and then ‘Emmerdale’ for many years. We have a drink at the famous ‘Woolpack’ before heading to Ilkley for some free time. In the afternoon we visit National Trust owned East Riddlesden Hall, an intimate manor house set in mature grounds in the Aire Valley.

Day 3 A day to explore York. You might like to have a closer look at York Minster, the City Walls, visit the National Railway Museum (free entrance) or discover our Viking heritage at the Jorvik Centre. There are plenty of shops, museums and cafés to keep you happy all day.

Day 4 Enjoy a free day in Harrogate or your driver could take you to RHS Harlow Carr (entrance approx. £12.50). We have an early dinner before travelling to Ripon for a behind the scenes guided tour of beautiful Ripon Cathedral. At 9pm in the Market Square witness one of the oldest English traditions as the Ripon Hornblower sets the night watch. DAY 5: Departing after breakfast, we head home via Lincolnshire and the Dartford Crossing making refreshment stops along the way. We arrive home early evening

Old Swan Hotel

Our gorgeous, quality hotel stands in a quiet setting in the centre of Harrogate and was once the hiding place of Agatha Christie during her disappearance in 1926. The hotel is traditionally and tastefully furnished and bedrooms have TV, telephone, ironing facilities, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has WiFi and a lift but there are some steps on the first and second floors.
