Join us aboard this lovely CroisiEurope ship as we cruise from Strasbourg to Luxembourg, exploring four wonderful river valleys, cruising past romantic castles, through steep sided vineyards and unspoilt picturesque landscapes.
Day 1 We make our way to Dover for the Channel crossing to France. Once in France we travel across Belgium and on to our overnight hotel (half board).
Day 2 After breakfast we drive to Strasbourg, with suitable stops along the way, and board the MS Leonardo Da Vinci in the afternoon. There is a welcome cocktail before dinner on board. During the night we sail to Mannheim.
Day 3 After arrival in Mannheim, there is an included excursion to the romantic town of Heidelberg. The boat cruises on to Heidelberg where we reboard, and then we cruise on the Neckar and Rhine towards Rüdesheim, arriving in the evening.
Day 4 In Rüdesheim, you can enjoy an optional excursion on a small train stopping at a wine tasting cellar, followed by a visit to the Museum of Mechanical Music. This afternoon we cruise on the most beautiful section of the Romantic Rhine. All along the banks of the meandering river you can see castles and medieval villages set amidst the renowned vineyards, and also the legendary Lorelei Rock. At Koblenz, we join the Moselle toward Cochem, where we arrive this evening.
Day 5 Wake up in the small medieval town of Cochem, where we have free time or an optional tour of the castle, a marvellous example of flamboyant gothic style. Back on board, we cruise towards Trier, arriving during the night.
Day 6 Join an optional guided tour of Trier, well-known for its Roman and medieval buildings, impressive churches and the famous Porta Nigra. The tour reboards the ship in Saarburg. Relax on board as we cruise along the Saar and the Moselle to Remich – the ‘Pearl of the Moselle’.
Day 7 This morning there is an optional visit to a winery complete with tastings, or free time in the historic centre of Remich. After lunch we have an included guided tour of Luxembourg, the capital city of the Grand Duchy, where you can discover the main sites on foot and by coach. Tonight, enjoy a Gala Dinner on board.
Day 8 We disembark in Remich after breakfast and travel via the motorways to Calais for our Channel crossing. We continue back to the south coast, reaching the local area late evening.
