We return once again to the wonderful Royal York and Faulkner for this festive break! Relax in this beautiful, unspoilt Regency town overlooking the waters of Lyme Bay, visit Torquay, Exeter and the famous Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. In the evenings enjoy Christmas entertainment, dancing and festive fare.
Day 1 After a morning taxi pick up, we make our way west, stopping in Bournemouth for lunch, and arriving at our hotel in the afternoon to be greeted with mulled wine and mince pies. Dinner tonight is followed by live entertainment.
Day 2 Today we travel west to the lively seaside resort of Torquay, where you can indulge in some Christmas shopping, enjoy a bite to eat or just stroll around the harbour. This evening we celebrate with a sherry before a traditional Christmas dinner followed by music and dancing in the Faulkner Bar.
Day 3 Enjoy a free day in Sidmouth, or join your driver for a mystery drive in the morning and/or a visit to the famous Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary in the afternoon. Dinner tonight is followed by a musical performance from a local pianist.
Day 4 This morning we travel to Exeter, where the Christmas market* is being held on the beautiful Cathedral Green. We have afternoon tea and Christmas cake at our hotel and have a festive quiz after dinner.
Day 5 After a morning taxi pick up, we make our way west, stopping in Departing after breakfast we travel east, with suitable stops along the way. We return you to your homes, via your taxis in the afternoon
A magnificent Regency building, enjoying an unrivalled position on Sidmouth's elegant Esplanade, this family-run hotel is ideally located directly overlooking the sea and adjacent to the picturesque town centre. The Royal York and Faulkner has a reputation for offering hospitality, service and comfort, as well as excellent food. All rooms offer TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is WiFi and a lift, although there are some steps in the hotel.
