Itinerary

Day 1 We make our way north, with suitable refreshment stops, to our overnight hotel in Lancashire.

Day 2 After breakfast we continue north, entering Scotland at Gretna Green and making a short stop to visit the Old Blacksmith Shop, where you can see the original wedding room and the famous anvil – the site of runaway marriages since 1753. We continue on through the Borders and reach our hotel on the banks of the Clyde, west of Glasgow, late afternoon.

Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, we travel into Edinburgh and visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse**, the King’s official residence in Scotland. Explore the Palace’s associations with Mary, Queen of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and our own King Charles. We then have some free time to buy something to eat (dinner today is not included), before taking our seats in the stands for the 2025 Military Tattoo. After the spectacular show we return to our hotel.

Day 4 A wonderful day out into the Trossochs National Park, through the fabulous scenery of the Strathyre Forest, past Loch Earn, along Glen Ogle and Glen Dochart. We continue down Glen Falloch and along the western shore of Loch Lomond. At the pretty town of Luss, we take a 90-minute cruise on the loch. A day to relax, sit back and enjoy the breath-taking scenery with photo and refreshment stops along the way.

Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel down across the border and through the Yorkshire Dales before reaching our hotel in time for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 We make our way south via the pretty conservation town of Stamford to the local area.
