Itinerary

Day 1 After your door to door service, we travel eastwards and have a stop at 19th-century Newhaven Fort where you have time to get lunch and explore the ramparts, exhibits and tunnels. (Not all accessible to the less mobile.) Then on to Eastbourne with time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2 We start our day with a visit to Michelham Priory House & Gardens, explore 800 years of history, from its foundation by Augustinian canons and later dissolution by King Henry VIII. The Grade I listed building became a country house in the 1930s and was home to evacuees and Canadian troops during WWII. The afternoon is free in Eastbourne.

Day 3 This morning we make our way eastwards and start our day at The Observatory Science Centre, which has been operating in the former home of The Royal Greenwich Observatory since 1995. This afternoon we visit Herstmonceux Castle Gardens, where the majestic moated castle is the centrepiece of a beautiful 300-acre estate.

Day 4 Today our journey begins at Battle Abbey, where in 1066, the armies of King Harold and William the Conqueror clashed here at the Battle of Hastings. Today you can explore the battlefield, visitor centre, Abbey Gardens and Abbey Ruins. We then have free time in Hastings to explore the quaint old town, ride on the funicular railway or visit the Shipwreck Museum (entrance is not included).

Day 5 Leaving after a leisurely breakfast, we make our way homewards, with a stop at Raystede Animal Welfare Centre for lunch and a chance to meet the animals. We reach our taxis late afternoon.
