Day 1 After your door to door service, we travel eastwards and have a stop at Alfriston before taking the high road up to Birling Gap, before making our way down into Eastbourne. The afternoon is free to explore the town, or relax in the lounges. We have a welcome drink before dinner this evening for a chance to meet your fellow guests.

Day 2 We head to Rye with its quaint charm, 18th Century cobbled streets and breathtaking views of Romney Marsh. In the afternoon we visit Chapel Down Vineyard and Winery, where we learn about the history of English wine, the intricacies of the traditional method of sparkling wine production and enjoy a tasting.

Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, we travel up to Chartwell, the muchloved family home of Sir Winston Churchill. The house is still much as it was when the family lived here with pictures, books and personal mementos filling the comfortable rooms. The studio is home to a fine collection of Churchill’s paintings, and the gardens reflect his love of landscape and nature. There will be time to explore and to purchase refreshments in the Landemare Café before we return to Eastbourne.

Day 4 A drive through the countryside to Sheffield Park to join the Bluebell Railway for a nostalgic train ride to East Grinstead. We rejoin our coach and continue to Royal Tunbridge Wells, with its elegant streets, Georgian buildings and the famous Pantiles. There is free time for lunch and exploration before we return to our hotel.

Day 5 Leaving after a leisurely breakfast, we depart our hotel and make our way homewards, with a stop in Brighton along the way. We reach our taxis late afternoon.
