This year Durham is once again playing host to a stunning four-day festival in which artists will create a breathtaking series of installations, illuminations and performances using light. Lumiere will turn the city into a winter wonderland, transforming its buildings, streets and riverbanks into a nocturnal winter festival. We also visit Beamish, for the opening of the Christmas season and explore the wonders of the Bowes Museum.
