Lincolnshire is home to delightful historic towns and remarkable stately homes, and we have been able to secure many sole use rooms at our hotel near Grantham.
Day 1 After being picked up from your door by taxi, you join our touring coach and we travel northwards, stopping in St Albans before continuing to our hotel in Marston, where we are greeted with tea and biscuits.
Day 2 Today we explore the historic city of Lincoln, with its beautiful cathedral, interesting shops and labyrinth of alleyways. First we meet our guide for a familiarisation tour of the city by coach, and later in the day we have a guided tour of the cathedral. The rest of the day is free for your own exploration. Tonight, there will be bingo after dinner.
Day 3 This morning we call at the conservation town of Stamford in time for lunch and shopping. Then on to Burghley House, a 13,000-acre working estate on the outskirts of the town. Built in the 1500s, the beautiful Tudor house has 18 state rooms, wonderful gardens, a shop and café
Day 4 We begin with a drive to Spalding and the Springfields Garden Centre, with time to get some lunch. This afternoon we visit Belton House, the perfect English country house set in its own deer park. Belton was built in the 17th Century and has a fine collection of porcelain and silver, a world-renowned library and elegant formal gardens and fabulous views. Tonight there is a quiz after dinner.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel southwards making suitable refreshment stops along the way and arrive in the local area late afternoon.
