Day 1 Late morning a taxi will collect you from your home and take you to meet our Woods coach for the short journey to Southampton, where we board Bolette to enjoy two nights on board enjoying the fine food and entertainment from Fred.Olsen.
Day 2 During our day at sea relax in one of the lounges, stroll on the deck, take a dip in the Jacuzzi, indulge in afternoon tea, and perhaps spoil yourself with a soothing treatment in the Spa. In the evening enjoy a delicious five-course dinner and a range of entertainment.
Day 3 Disembarking in Liverpool early morning, your Woods coach will be waiting for you to take you to the Wirral. Our first visit is to the award-winning Ness Botanic Gardens, overlooking the Dee Estuary. The gardens were founded in 1898 by Arthur Kilpin Bulley, a Liverpool cotton merchant with a passion for gardens and for plant collecting. The gardens cover some 64 acres, and houses a living collection of 15,000 plants many of which were early introductions from China, the Himalayas, Tibet and Burma. Our second visit is to Port Sunlight, the village founded by ‘Soap King’ William Hesketh Lever in 1888. The village was built to house Lever’s ‘Sunlight Soap’ factory workers, but today is home to a fascinating museum, beautiful architecture, a world-class art gallery, stunning parkland and a thriving community. We return to Liverpool and our hotel for dinner.
Day 4 We have a full day in Liverpool and a ticket for the Hop-on-Hop-off Bus so you can explore the sights of this magnificent city at your leisure. You could visit Royal Albert Dock and the Beatles Experience, take in the Tate Liverpool, the two wonderful cathedrals, Europe’s oldest China Town, or just explore the shopping opportunities and excellent restaurants and cafés on offer. Return to our hotel for a final dinner.
Day 5 We bid farewell to Liverpool and make our way homewards with suitable refreshment stops along the way, arriving in the local area early evening to meet the taxis to take you home.
Our four-star hotel is close to the iconic Liver Building, the River Mersey and one of the stops for the Hop-on-Hop-off sightseeing bus tour you have included.
