Itinerary

Day 1 After pick up by taxi, we make our way to Gloucestershire with a visit to the Regency town of Cheltenham before arriving at our hotel. After tea on arrival, there is time to relax before dinner.

Day 2 After breakfast, we make our way via Broadway to Batsford Arboretum, home to one of the finest botanical collections in the country and a blaze of colour at this time of year and we have included a 90-minute tour with one of the knowledgeable guides. If you do not want to take part in the tour, Batsford is also home to a beautiful visitor centre with café, gift and garden shop, and a plant centre within the walls of the Victorian Kitchen Garden.

Day 3 A local guide joins us today to take us on a beautiful journey through the autumn colours visiting some of the pretty Cotswold villages including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bibury and Burford on the River Windrush.

Day 4 Today we visit Ledbury with free time to explore this beautiful market town, with its many black and white timber-framed buildings, cobbled streets and fine parish church. In the afternoon we visit Much Marcle and Westons, where cider and perry has been lovingly produced for over 135 years. We have a one-hour tour of the cider mill, a tasting and a delicious cream tea.

Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we spend the morning in Gloucester visiting the restored Victorian Docks, home to the National Waterways Museum and the Merchant’s Quay Shopping Centre. Early afternoon we make our way back to the south coast and home.
