This tour offers some real delights for animal and nature lovers, as it includes fabulous birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre, exotic wild animals at the Cotswold Wildlife Park and a host of birdlife at Slimbridge.
Day 1 You are picked up from your door by taxi, then by coach we travel across country toward Swindon and our hotel, making suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Day 2 This morning we visit two beautiful towns on the River Windrush, beginning with Bourton on the Water. After a little time to explore, we move on to Burford, where there is time to get some lunch. We spend the afternoon in the wonderful Cotswolds Wildlife Park. Set in over 160 acres of beautiful parklands, this conservation park has a hugely diverse collection of species including lions, giraffes, lemurs, rhinos and reindeer!
Day 3 Travelling west, we reach Slimbridge Wetland Centre – the wetland that inspired Sir Peter Scott to found The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in 1946. This haven for wildlife is a delight for all nature lovers. The afternoon can be spent in Swindon or enjoying the facilities of your hotel.
Day 4 We begin our day with a 14-mile journey on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway through the beautiful Cotswold scenery from Cheltenham to Broadway. In the afternoon we travel to Moreton-inMarsh and visit the Cotswold Falconry Centre, home to over 60 different species of birds of prey.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we travel south east and visit the pretty cathedral town of Winchester, before continuing to the local area to meet our taxis.
Our four-star hotel is set in 20 acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside close to the village of Blunsdon St Andrew.
