Itinerary

Day 1 Following an early morning home taxi collection, we travel to Folkestone for the Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. On arrival, we continue our journey south to Saarbrucken and our overnight hotel.

Day 2 We continue our journey to Austria where we will arrive at our hotel with time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Day 3 A morning excursion to Salzburg, a beautiful city immortalized in the film the 'Sound of Music' and birth place of Mozart! Time for some last-minute shopping whilst soaking up the atmosphere of the Christmas Market which is set up in Cathedral and Residenz Square before journeying back to our hotel.

Day 4 CHRISTMAS EVE: This morning we take a scenic drive into the Salzkammergut, known as the Austrian Lake District. We journey first to the Mondsee, one of the most unspoilt lakes in the region. We continue on towards the traffic free village of St. Gilgen, on the northern shore of the lake. Home to the grandfather of Mozart and the birthplace of his mother, the town proudly calls itself the Mozart town on the Wolfgangsee. We return to our hotel for an included horse and carriage sleigh ride and traditional gala dinner.

Day 5 CHRISTMAS DAY: Happy Christmas! A free day in St Wolfgang with a traditional turkey lunch served in the hotel. After lunch perhaps take the opportunity to stroll around the lake or the picturesque village.

Day 6 Today we will visit the delightful spa town of Bad Ischl where the Emperors of the Austro Hungarian Monarchy spent their summers. This afternoon we visit Hallstatt, Austria’s most picturesque village.

Day 7 We depart Austria and travel to Saarbrucken for an overnight stay.

Day 8 Departing after breakfast we make our way to Calais for the Eurotunnel crossing, arriving home mid-evening.
