We return to the excellent Thoresby Hall, allowing you to see the best of the Peak District National Park, visit Chatsworth House, Crich Tramway Village, Newstead Abbey and also have time to enjoy the huge range of activities and entertainment that Warner’s are so famous for.
Day 1 After the usual taxi pick ups we travel north and reach our Warner’s hotel near Nottingham with time to relax before dinner.
Day 2 This morning we travel back in time at Crich Tramway Village, home to the National Tramway Museum. You can enjoy unlimited rides on the world-renowned trams through the lovingly restored period village. The afternoon is free to enjoy Thoresby.
Day 3 This morning we visit Newstead Abbey, once home to Lord Byron. We enjoy the gardens and have a private visit to the historic house, medieval cloisters and even the private apartments of Byron, still containing the table where he wrote. The afternoon is free for you to explore the activities and facilities at Thoresby Hall.
Day 4 Our day is spent in the Peak District National Park at Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Visit the house with wonderful works of art, the chapel, farm and the gardens with miles of walks, rare trees, temples, sculptures, fountains, streams and ponds.
Day 5 We make our way south, with a stop to visit the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. We then continue toward the local area making a suitable refreshment stop along the way.
The majestic Thoresby Hall Hotel and Spa is a Grade 1 listed mansion in 30 acres of beautifully landscaped Victorian gardens on the edge of Sherwood Forest. Leisure facilities include swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, croquet, putting green, bowls and much more! There is a café, two bars, a library, a gift shop and you can enjoy entertainment every evening and a full programme of activities during the day. Our bedrooms are in the new wing and have TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is WiFi and a lift.
