We visit iconic sites both sides of the Welsh border – a tour with something for everyone.
Day 1 After our door to door service collects you from your home, we travel across country to the pretty town of Corsham, filming location for Truro in ‘Poldark’, for some free time for refreshments. We continue to our hotel north of Bristol in time to relax before dinner.
Day 2 We travel the short distance to Bath, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visit the famous Roman Baths, an amazing historic site giving a window back to Roman Britain. An audio-guide is included with your ticket. The afternoon is free for your own exploration.
Day 3 Crossing the River Severn we enter Wales and travel to its capital, Cardiff. We meet a local guide for a driven tour around the city, before free time to explore and get some lunch. In the afternoon we visit St Fagan’s – The National History Museum of Wales, where more than 50 buildings lead you from Celtic times to the present day.
Day 4 This morning we visit Tyntesfield, a spectacular Victorian Gothic Revival estate with spiralling turrets, ornate stone carvings and a wonderful walled kitchen garden. We return via Bristol with a stop to view the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge majestically spanning the River Avon. Your afternoon is free in Bristol or at your hotel.
Day 5 We visit Bristol’s historic harbourside where we have included entrance to the remarkable SS Great Britain, Brunel’s iconic steamship. There will be free time for lunch on the harbourside, before we make our way back home, meeting our taxis early evening.
Our modern four-star hotel is to the north of Bristol and offers comfortable accommodation and leisure facilities which include swimming pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, sauna and gym. Bedrooms are equipped with TV, telephone, WiFi, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has a lift to all floors.
