We visit iconic sites in both Bristol and Bath, but also take in the beautiful towns of Tetbury and Corsham, stroll among the trees at Westonbirt and cruise Bristol harbour
Day 1 After our door to door service collects you from your home, we travel across country to the pretty town of Corsham, filming location for Truro in ‘Poldark’, for some free time for refreshments. We continue to our hotel north of Bristol in time to relax before dinner.
Day 2 We travel the short distance to Bath, a beautiful town, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visit the famous Roman Baths, an amazing historic site giving a window back to Roman Britain. An audioguide is included with your ticket. The afternoon is free for your own exploration.
Day 3 This morning we visit Chavenage House near Tetbury, a wonderful Elizabethan house packed with antiques and used as a filming location for many productions including ‘Wolf Hall’ and ‘Poldark’. We have some free time in Tetbury over lunch before we make our way to Westonbirt, one of the most mature and extraordinary arboretums in the world.
Day 4 We travel into Bristol with a stop to view the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge majestically spanning the River Avon. We then visit the historic harbourside where we join a one-hour cruise to discover the fascinating history and contemporary culture of Bristol’s Floating Harbour through the informative and entertaining commentary on board. There will be free time for lunch on the harbourside, before we make our way back home, meeting our taxis early evening.
Our modern four-star hotel is to the north of Bristol and offers comfortable accommodation and leisure facilities which include swimming pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, sauna and gym. Bedrooms are equipped with TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel has WiFi and a lift.
