Lytham St Annes is home to elegant parks and gardens and a restored Victorian Pier. From here we can discover the history of Lancashire and the stardust of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Day 1 An early departure to travel north into Lancashire, with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Day 2 Today we visit Lancaster Castle. Dating back almost 1000 years, the castle occupies a city-centre hilltop location and is described by English Heritage as "the Northwest’s most important historic and archaeological monument”. On our guided tour we explore its long history, with tales of crime and punishment. You then have time to explore Lancaster at leisure.
Day 3 We head to 18th-century Lytham Hall - the finest Georgian House in Lancashire. Enjoy a guided tour to learn about the Clifton family’s part in the conspiracy to restore James II to the throne, and take time to explore the mature parkland surrounding the hall. The afternoon is free in Lytham St Annes.
Day 4 Our day in Blackpool includes a visit to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom where you can enjoy live music from the Mighty Wurlitzer, dream of dancing with Anton Du Beke and enjoy the Afternoon Tea Experience. The rest of the day is yours to explore Blackpool at leisure.
Day 5 Leaving after breakfast, we travel south, reaching the local area early evening.
