Gorgeous scenery awaits in the crisp autumn season.
Day 1 After your taxi pick up, we travel across to Gloucester in time for lunch. We continue to our hotel in Carmarthen where we have a welcome drink before dinner for a chance to meet your fellow guests.
Day 2 Today we visit the National Botanic Garden of Wales, created within a beautiful Regency park, with over 100,000 plants and the Great Glasshouse as its remarkable centrepiece. We have included entry to The British Bird of Prey Centre, where you can enjoy a talk by one of the falconers or watch one of the flying displays (weather dependant). The afternoon is free in Carmarthen.
Day 3 We visit Tenby this morning and this afternoon, Pembroke. We have a guided tour of the castle, once the magnificent home of the Earls of Pembroke, and enjoy tea and scones in the Castle Café.
Day 4 After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to the Gwili Railway for an 8-mile return journey by diesel locomotive through picturesque farmland and steeply wooded hillsides and alongside the River Gwili. We then travel by coach to Dinefwr and historic Newton House. We have free time for lunch before our guided tour.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel to Cardiff for free time over the lunchtime period. We then continue home.
Our three-star hotel, within walking distance of Carmarthen, has been modernised, but retains its old-world charm. All rooms have TV, telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hospitality tray. The hotel has a bar, spacious lounge and terrace, a gym and sauna, WiFi and a lift.
