After a comfort stop en route at Haskins Snowhill, we arrive at the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. We have a couple of hours here to browse among the chic independent shops of the colonnaded Pantiles and the High Street and take a break for coffee or lunch in one of the buzzy cafes.
Then we continue to Saint Hill Manor, reputed to be the finest 18th century sandstone building in Sussex. It has had a succession of distinguished owners, each family leaving behind a part of its own unique history, with a fascinating blend of Eastern and Western cultures. We have a short tour of the Manor, finishing with cream tea in the magnificent Monkey Room. There will time to visit the gardens before we depart for the journey home.
