We stop in Lewes with free time to buy refreshments and visit the shops before we continue to Bateman’s. Rudyard Kipling loved the sanctuary of his family home and the rooms (and Rolls Royce Phantom!) are much as he left them. You’ll have timed entry to the house, then you can explore the formal gardens and wildflower meadow and relax in the tea room.
For National Trust members the cost is £22.00. You must present your card on the day.
