Summer Holiday Fun

The schools have broken up and the summer holidays are here and another 5 weeks of glorious weather (we hope) to keep the family entertained and find new and exciting places to visit.

Whether you are looking for ideas for the children, grandchildren, other family members and, of course, yourself, we still have spaces on some of our terrific summer day excursions.  From monkeying around in Dorset, a walking safari in Hampshire, awaken your senses with the smell of garlic, or experience the noise of steam engines!  We’re sure children, and adults, of all ages will enjoy a day out at one of the many attractions on offer.

With local pick-up points and luxury coach travel and entry fees included in the price, you are free to relax and enjoy your day from start to finish.  Here is just a small selection:

MONKEY WORLD

Wednesday 10th August

Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre is a wonderful day out for all the family. The 65-acre park is home to the stars of TV’s ‘Monkey Life’ and ‘Monkey Business’, providing sanctuary for rescued and endangered primates from around the world.

Some are now part of international breeding programmes for endangered species including Europe’s official orang-utan crèche!   The woolly monkeys are also thriving, and earlier this year the centre welcomed the birth of two new babies who are doing well.

ISLE OF WIGHT GARLIC FESTIVAL

Saturday 20th August

Come to the multi award-winning farm that produces Britain’s most pungent garlic and enjoy one of the Isle of Wight’s most popular family events. Watch demonstrations by star chefs, live entertainment, sample local fayre and browse the craft and produce stalls. A real day out for garlic lovers!

MARWELL ZOO

Friday 12th August

Enjoy a day at Marwell Zoo and get closer to the wonders of the natural world, set in 140 acres of Hampshire countryside. See hundreds of animals including giraffes, tigers, hippos and penguins. You can also listen to the daily talks, watch animal feeds and take a free road-train ride around the zoo.  There’s adventure play areas for young visitors, cafés and a gift shop.

GREAT DORSET STEAM FAIR

Saturday 27th August

The Great Dorset Steam Fair is a typically British event offering a unique blend of nostalgia and entertainment. The show grows every year and new features join the 2000 working exhibits (including 200 working steam engines) on the incredible 600-acre showground. There’s something for everyone, whatever your interests – whether you’re a collector, a steam fanatic, a music lover or a heavy horse fan.

Pick up points include: Chichester, Rose Green, Aldwick, Bognor Regis, Felpham, Littlehampton, Rustington and Gording-by-Sea.
