Summer Holiday Fun

The schools break up soon and the summer holidays begin, with six weeks of glorious weather (hopefully) to keep the family entertained and find new and exciting places to visit.

Whether you are looking for ideas for the children, grandchildren, other family members and, of course, yourself, we still have spaces on some terrific day excursions this summer.  From Tiger Tanks to Shark Tanks or awaken your senses with the smell of garlic, the noise of steam engines or experience a bird’s ‘eye’ view of London!  We’re sure children, and adults, of all ages will enjoy a day out at one of the many attractions on offer.

With local pick-up points and luxury coach travel and entry fees included in the price, you are free to relax and enjoy your day from start to finish.  Here is just a small selection:

Tuesday 6th August

Choose your favourite destination on this excursion to Wareham in Dorset where we find two very popular attractions.

Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre is a wonderful day out for all the family. The 65-acre park is home to the stars of TV’s ‘Monkey Life’ and ‘Monkey Business’, providing sanctuary for rescued and endangered primates from around the world.

Alternatively, marvel at the Bovington Tank Museum’s unique collection of over 300 vehicles, regarded as the best in the world.  Discover vehicles that have seen action in the major wars of the 20th Century and watch the Tanks in Action displays with life like explosions, thundering engines and expert commentary.

Saturday 17th August

Come to the multi award-winning farm that produces Britain’s most pungent garlic and enjoy one of the Isle of Wight’s most popular family events. Watch demonstrations by star chefs, live entertainment, sample local fayre and browse the craft and produce stalls. A real day out for garlic lovers!

Friday 23rd August

A trip to London’s Southbank, the site of the London Eye. At 135 metres, it is Europe’s tallest Ferris Wheel. The 30-minute flight offers breath-taking 360° views of the capital and its famous landmarks.

After lunch, visit Sea Life London Aquarium.

Home to around 350 species of marine life, including sharks and stingrays, and experience its new Coral Kingdom.

Saturday 24th August

The Great Dorset Steam Fair is a typically British event offering a unique blend of nostalgia and entertainment. The show grows every year and new features join the 2000 working exhibits (including 200 working steam engines) on the incredible 600-acre showground. There’s something for everyone, whatever your interests – whether you’re a collector, a steam fanatic, a music lover or a heavy horse fan.
